Movement announce Fifth Anniversary comp

The people behind Movement Festival Torino - the Italian counterpart to the more well known Detroit Movement - have announced details of a fifth anniversary compilation to be released on October 30th to co-incide with this year's festival.

The Movement Electronic Music Festival was started in Detroit in 2000 by Carl Craig and fellow Michigan based DJ luminaries to celebrate the city’s huge music influence, its history and the abundance of new talent. Six years later and the duo of Luigi Mazzoleni and Maurizio Vitale, inspired by its success, launched the sister event in Torino (Turin) in north western Italy. The festival was set up to celebrate the best of electronic music and to strengthen the bond between the two cities and has gone on to become one of the key events of its kind in Europe.

The compilation covers three separate discs plus a two hour mix from I-Robots and takes in all the sort of sounds you could expect to hear at any incarnation of Movement. From modern heroes to past legends, the three discs take in every shade of techno from the likes of Model 500, Plastikman, Loco Dice, Artists include Loco Dice, Moodymann, Chez Damier and more.

The I-Robots mix takes a selection of the tracks which have gone before and blends them all into a finely balanced journey through both techno and the history of Movement Torino. CD 1 (unmixed)
